Luke now takes us from Acts 12 in Jerusalem to Acts 13 in Antioch where the church has now grown to the place where they were worshipping the Lord and fasting when God the Holy Spirit calls on them to set apart 2 men to the work of God. The Holy Spirit and the church sends these two men out on a mission. If any one should doubt that the Holy Spirit is a person, read what He Himself says of Himself. He says in verse 2, “Set apart for “ME” Barnabas and Saul for the work to which “I” have called them.” The Holy Spirit uses these two personal pronouns in reference to Himself.
