Achyutashtakam Introduction and Recitation

<p>Achyutāshtakam is a simple yet wonderful hymn of eight stanzas &nbsp;comprising the names of lord Vishnu with main emphasis on his &nbsp;incarnations Rāma and Krishna.<br> <br> This easy to sing hymn of &nbsp;wonderful metre was composed by āchārya Shankara Bhagavadpāda. The names &nbsp;indicate various divine qualities of lord Vishnu and glorify his great &nbsp;deeds.<br> <br> āchārya shankara bhagavadpāda compiles a collection of &nbsp;names of lord Vishnu containing deep meaning in them and remind us of &nbsp;the great pastimes of the lord narrated in the purānas. They also remind &nbsp;us the beauty of his forms and help us visualize and contemplate on &nbsp;him.<br> <br> This book is an effort to put light of meaning of each name &nbsp;from this hymn and also narrate in short the incidents the names &nbsp;indicate or relate to.<br> <br> The names in this hymn are compiled from Vedas, purānas, Upanishads, Vishnu sahasranāma and mantra shāstras.<br> <br> Some &nbsp;of the names are repeated more than one time. When it comes to praising &nbsp;the lord’s name repetition is not seen as an error.<br> <br> Some names are repeated for its greatness and glory and the names value as a mantra.<br> <br> At &nbsp;places, I have indicated the value of the names given in this hymn by &nbsp;naming the sources in which the names are used as mantras.
