#99 UNARMED - BLACK - SHOT multiple times by Police - Phil Holland's Story of Hope & Change
Chancelvie Djemissi
Description
#99 Phil Holland was in his early 20's when he had a job delivering pizza's in Philadelphia. It wasn't even his turn to deliver that night but a fellow employee didn't care to do a delivery so close to closing so Phil decided he would take it. The order came it at 10:45PM and the pizza business closed at 11PM. Phil made the delivery and he had just gotten into his car when his life changed forever. Phil had no idea that police were looking for an armed black man that had been in the area of his delivery although he knew the area was a rough area for gang violence. The man they were looking for was almost a foot taller than Phil but that isn't obvious when you are sitting in your car. He also had no idea that the two men that were approaching his car in plain clothes were cops. Phil thought he was about to get robbed... All to frequently we are hearing of innocent unarmed black men being killed by police. This is Phil Holland's real life story of being innocent and shot mistakingly by police. Please join Shawn and Jen as they sit down with Phil and talk about what happened to him and more importantly what he wants everyone to know about his story and his mission. There is an active discussion about police violence and the Black Lives Matter movement. This is a powerful episode that helps to tell the other side of the story through someone that has lived it.
