903: RNIB Legal Rights Service Working in Partnership with Our Sight Loss Sector Partners

<div>In the next feature of our new series of interviews looking at how the RNIB is working in partnership with charities and organisations across the sight loss sector to make a more inclusive and accessible society for blind and partially sighted people, Connect Radio’s Toby Davey checks in with members of the Strategic Engagement Lead - Third Sector Team here at the RNIB this time to focus on the work of the Legal Rights Service.</div> <div><br> </div> <div>Toby was joined by Andrea Glover - RNIB Strategic Engagement manager and Anita Marshall - RNIB Solicitor/Specialist Lead, Legal Rights Service to find out how the RNIB’s Legal Rights Service provides advice and support to both the RNIB and external partners.</div> <div><br> </div> <div>Andrea began by explaining to Toby how the Legal Rights Service fits within all the strategic partnership working at the RNIB. </div> <div><br> </div> <div>Anita then outlined some of the work that the Legal Rights service does such as dealing with complex casework covering three areas of the law: welfare benefits, community care and the equality act in relationship to goods, services, and employment.  The work within the RNIB providing a support helpline service to the RNIB Advice Team, training RNIB Sight Loss Advisors and providing on behalf of the RNIB legal factsheets and toolkits available from the RNIB website.</div> <div><br> </div> <div>Anita also mentioned about the external training the Legal Rights Service has been delivering recently to the organisation and how a recent training session about the Equality Act in relation to employment had driven more case work to the service. </div> <div><br> </div> <div>Andrea summed up by explaining how the work of the Legal Rights Service feeds back into the RNIB campaigning, collaboration, and other cross sector partnership work. </div> <div><br> </div> <div>To contact the Legal Rights Service do email legalrights.mailbox@rnib.org.uk or visit the RNIB website via the following link for factsheets and toolkits.</div> <div><a h
