9.24 - Little Rock

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s September 24th, and on this day in 1957 President Eisenhower ordered federal troops to escort nine African American high school students into the all-white Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. A white mob had been stationed outside the high school for weeks, blocking the nine students from entering. The crisis attracted media attention from around the world and the students became known collectively as “The Little Rock Nine”.</span></p>
