Morocco’s defenders were happy to defend in the early stages of the match, willing to sit back and just keep the ball in front of them with tackles and pressing to try and push Canada back, but that changed once Canada scored the opening goal 24 minutes in. After Évelyne Viens stole the ball from a Moroccan player after a misplaced goal kick, she ran at the backline, putting pressure on them immediately. She held the ball long enough for Jessie Fleming to charge in before Viens found the Chelsea midfielder with a pass inside. Fleming beat a defender before calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net for the opening goal.

Lets talk about it.

Find us on Podcast

Apple: https://tinyurl.com/e2vvb3wn

Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yc245trm

Twitter https://twitter.com/afri0cans And

YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfbh_slwKxmrlZpdb58uKTg
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/afri-cans/message
