Description

<p>Casey Erhlich’s son Cooper stopped eating, walking, talking and when he wasn’t hidden inside himself, he would explode. His violent meltdowns were escalating leaving Casey and her husband scared of what he might do. Casey left her career, moved her family to a small town and became Cooper’s full-time carer, mother and researcher - eventually understanding Pathological Demand Avoidance or PDA to be at the heart of their incredible challenges. Over many years of heartbreak, depression and feeling like a failure as a parent Casey came to understand her son, his needs, and how she and others could communicate with him and support him to not only function, but thrive. She now supports other parents of PDA children and shares her journey and insights in this episode.</p><br><p><a href="https://www.atpeaceparents.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Casey Ehrlich: At Peace Parenting</a></p><p><a href="https://www.kristyforbes.com.au/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Kristy Forbes: inTune Pathways</a></p><p><a href="https://www.amazon.com.au/PDA-PDAers-Anxiety-Avoidance-Meltdowns-ebook/dp/B079F6WXJH" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Sally Cat: PDA by PDAers</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEO84_va3InLJXyZHAK34Qw" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">In Play We Trust</a></p><p><a href="https://www.amazon.com.au/Declarative-Language-Handbook-Thoughtful-Challenges/dp/1734516208" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Linda K Murphy: Declarative Language Handbook</a></p><p><a href="https://neurodivergentrebel.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Neurodivergent Rebel</a></p><p><a href="https://www.amazon.com.au/When-Bad-Things-Happen-Good/dp/1400034728" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Harold S Kushner: When bad things happen to good people</a></p><br><p>Thanks for listening to this episode of “Well, hello anxiety with Dr Jodi Richardson.”</p><br><p>How you can help: If you enjoyed this episode, or gained some useful insight from it, please share
