60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: How Did a Tee Shirt Kick My Cranky Self Out the Door?

<p>Hello to you and Happy Birthday, Steve Wyzga, in <a target="_blank">Gaithersburg, Maryland</a>! </p><p>Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.</p><p>My brother Steve is one of the very few people I know who consistently converts a moon shadow into moon glow. I’d been fighting “kennel cough” - the plague of Camino pilgrims sharing close quarters in 40-bed dorm rooms - and this early morning was very cold, very dark, very wet. In the tightly packed albergue kitchen warmly dressed pilgrims prepared to leave. My gear was meager, my breakfast was a mug of hot water, and my mood was black. What would Steve do?</p><p>A fellow wearing a dark tee shirt stepped into the kitchen as I was weighing the odds of heading out or waiting for a break in the downpour. He turned away from me and just then I remembered these lines from another morning, another place: “<i>In life many things will catch your eye but few will catch your heart; follow those.</i>”</p><p>What caught my heart? The word <strong>ADJUST</strong> in great big white letters on the back of his tee shirt. That’s how Steve does it. That’s how I’ll do it. To hell with fear!
