I was standing in my own way of living life with patience, acceptance and tolerance. I had to learn to step aside, get out of my own way.  </p><p>How come this self- awareness is important? Because we are all affecting the world every moment. As Thich Nhat Hanh teaches we inter-are. Our actions, words, behaviors, and so on ripple out into the world. “<i>Nothing exists by itself alone. We all belong to each other; we cannot cut reality into pieces</i>.” [<a href="https://plumvillage.org/about/thich-nhat-hanh/" target="_blank">Thich Nhat Hanh</a>]</p><p><strong>Practical Tip</strong>: If we can practice remaining grounded and centered when we are confronted with a person or situation that irritates us - or worse - we are deepening our spiritual perspective and mastering our internal reality.
