The word vocation derives from many sources but each source says the same thing: a vocation is a calling, an invitation to pursue a task. It could be your life’s work, your mission, or the reason why you are taking up 3 square feet of ground on this Earth.  </p><p><a href="https://www.frederickbuechner.com/" target="_blank">Frederick Buechner</a> said, “<i>...it’s the place where your deep gladness meets the world’s deep need</i>." </p><p>It might feel daunting for some us: the time it takes to find and claim that true self, he truest calling. It’s only natural to try on the selves of other people; but at the end of the day the question still remains: What did you come here to be and do?</p><p><strong>Story Prompt</strong>: Who are you when you are your truest self? Where does your deep gladness meet the world’s deep need? Write that story!</p><p><strong>Practical Tip</strong>: The magic of stories is also in the sharing.
