573: Nisswa Lightning vs St. Stephen Steves Region 8C 2022

<div>The Nisswa Lightning clinched a berth in the State Tournament with a 7-3 victory over the St. Stephen Steves on Sunday in Freeport at the Region 8C Tournament.  After both teams scored 3 runs in the 1st inning, it was the Lighting's pitching combo of starter Nate DeChaine and reliever Brett Kramer, a draftee from Fort Ripley, that blanked the Steves offense for the final 8 innings.  Jeremiah Piepkorn broke the 3-3 tie with a 2-run single in the 2nd to make it 5-3, then Nisswa scored on an error in the 8th and then Nic Nelson belted his 2nd solo Homer of the game leading off the 9th for the 7-3 final.</div>
