<p>I was up late with Deb talking about music (a conversation SHE initiated) that had me absolutely fascinated. She wanted to know what I enjoyed MUSICALLY about the bands DEVO and Sparks. I was able to album by album with DEVO and give her my thoughts. If I were to do it for Sparks, we’d still be talking because they have SO many albums.</p><br><p>It led to a greater conversation about the tipping point in the 80s of when synthesizers became a PROBLEM in rock music. I actually found VIDEO EVIDENCE of the precise moment where it happened and I can’t wait for you to hear it and see it.</p><br><p>I discovered a great old New Wave band recently (nothing to do with New Wave Dave though I’m sure he’ll tell me otherwise) <strong>THE PRODUCERS. </strong>I actually posted about them on my Instagram and was delighted to know some folks had fond memories of this group as a VERY early MTV favorite. It’s aggressively stupid teenage stuff. My favorite thing about it is it features my old high school friend, Ed. Ed was the only punk at my school. I spoke with him on the phone today and he gave my blessing to share his old band <strong>H-TOMB</strong>, a punk band of little success, but I held onto their 7” forever. Want to hear what a totally average teenage punk band sounded like in New York City in 1994? YOU DON’T? Please don’t fast forward, how long can the song be, it’s hardcore.</p><p>I never expected to see CHRISTINE WESTON CHANDLER cover THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO. If you don’t know who Christine is, consider yourself saved from a very dark and deep internet rabbit hole. If you dare go down the rabbit hole, I actually posted about this the SECOND I was aware Christine had do
