She published her second book, Peanut's Legacy, in 2017.

What is Dafna’s goal in life? (3:08)

Dafna believes that no matter what you look like, sound like, or how much money or education you have, you have the power to solve problems within your community and that ultimately the best problem solvers are your fellow community members.

Dafna struggled with writing her book called It Takes A Little Crazy To Make A Difference. She had many health concerns during that time, so it took her about four years to finish the book. The title came to her suddenly when she was driving to a speaking engagement.

It takes a little crazy to make a difference was something she had said in a Sunday morning CBS interview, and she thinks the book had to happen as naturally as the title had, and that is why it took so long.

The book covers Dafna’s journey through all 50 states over 52 weeks of a year. This journey happened because Dafna felt she needed to interview every governor and ask them what they are doing to engage their citizens in solving community problems.

Dafna states that she writes because it is how she copes, and she shares because other people suffer too. Soon after finishing her trip through all the states, Dafna’s doctor found a lump in her breast, and she underwent bilateral mastectomies at 37 years old; and was engaged and stressed about how her soon to be husband would react to her not having breasts.

She decided to write a book about that journey as well, and people would make contact with Dafna
