37: Andrei Chikatilo (Part 1)

Today we're bringing you the first half of our dive into serial killer, Andrei Chikatilo. Known as The Butcher of Rostov, The Forest Strip Killer, The Red Ripper, and The Rostov Ripper, Andrei Chikatilo was a serial killer and real life boogeyman who terrorised women and children throughout Soviet Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. This week we give you background context of the harsh conditions in the post-war Soviet Union and talk how Chikatilo began his string of brutal crimes.  Stay tuned for next week when we bring you part 2!
