30 September - St Jerome

St Jerome is the patron saint of librarians, scholars and translators. He gave the Church the Vulgate - the Latin translation of both the old and new testament of the bible, which previously only existed in Hebrew and Greek respectively. He was also known to be short-tempered, impatient and proud, but he never stopped trying to be like Christ; praying to God for the grace of peace, patience and humility.
