In Singapore, discussion has centred around the problematic history of Sir Stamford Raffles. Today, we speak to Faris Joraimi, a co-editor of the book “Raffles Renounced: Towards a Merdeka History” on how we should view the legacy of Raffles as well as Singapore’s history as part of the Malay world.</p>
