28.30: 2 Samuel 17 and 18: A Strategy that Appeals to #Pride Leads to Death

<p>Have you ever noticed in a movie when the camera focuses in on a certain &nbsp;object that gets left behind? That means that object is going to play a &nbsp;major role in the story down the line. Remember back in <a href="https://giselleaguiar.com/2021/08/26/2-samuel-14-a-parable-to-call-out-david-hoping-to-soften-his-heart/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">2 Samuel 14</a>, &nbsp;the description of the length of Absalom’s hair? You may have thought, &nbsp;what does that have to do with anything? Believe it or not, it comes &nbsp;into play in these next chapters. Now, I have a feeling his hair wasn’t &nbsp;straight as it is depicted in the drawing at the top, from <a href="https://www.freebibleimages.org/illustrations/david-absalom/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Free Bible Images.</a> I think it was curlier and bushier. In any rate, as we will see, a &nbsp;strategy that appeals to pride, leads to death.
