211.28: Why Hanukkah is More Than Just a Fun, Jewish Holiday, it's in the Bible!

<p>So far, we’ve been traveling through the chronological accounts until &nbsp;the Babylonian exile of the Jews which happened in 3 waves, from 605-586 &nbsp;BC. Today we’re jumping ahead to the 300s BC, then even further to &nbsp;175-167 BC to yet another attack which led to the miracle of <strong>Hanukkah</strong>. &nbsp;Why should Christians understand the Jewish Hanukkah celebration? &nbsp;Because 1. Jesus celebrated it and 2. It points to Jesus as the Light of &nbsp;the World. We find the story in 1 Maccabees chapters 1, 2 and 4. Yes, &nbsp;it’s an apocryphal book, which means it’s not inspired by God, but an &nbsp;historical account.
