While Democrats say the president will outline his accomplishments and the direction for the future, Republicans say they don't expect much. Democrats are using the State of the Union, to reaffirm their party's commitment to codify Roe. Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is stepping up the state's "war on woke." With a plan to defund critical race theory and diversity and inclusion initiatives at the state's public universities, the governor also plans to up the power of the state's university presidents to hire and fire professors who do or don't comply. Finally this evening, the Ukrainian Catholic Church is moving away from a Church calendar affiliated with Russia.
