Description

On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: The White House issued what it calls a first-ever national strategy on gender equity and equality, and repeated multiple times throughout the 41 page document its unrelenting support for abortion. And, right now, both the House and Senate versions of President Joe Biden's reconciliation bill do not include the Hyde Amendment. In an effort to make sure Hyde and other pro-life provisions make their way into the bill, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy held a roundtable with other pro-life lawmakers and groups. Meanwhile, today we celebrate St. John Paul II's feast day. Pope John Paul II is considered a "great reformer" of the Catholic Church and was canonized in April 2014. Rector of the St. John Paul II Seminary and author of the books "Why Celibacy" and Cross-Examined," Fr. Carter Griffin, joins to talk about the saint. This week the Vatican hosted a conference on fighting injustice around the world, titled "Solidarity, Cooperation and Responsibility." Commissioner of Cohesion and Reforms for the European Commission, Elisa Ferreira, joins to tell us more about the conference and how the Vatican became involved. Finally this evening, Pope St. John Paul II played a major role in the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe. Professor at Grove City College and author of "A Pope and A President," Paul Kengor, joins to elaborate on this. Don't miss out on the latest news and analysis from a Catholic perspective.
