1918: President Kiir refutes rumors of tension in Juba

<div>President Salva Kiir has dismissed rumors of tension being reported in Juba. <br> <br> </div> <div>Addressing a press conference in Juba this afternoon, President Kiir said the deployment of security forces in town was meant to deter suspected criminals willing to cause insecurity in residential areas where senior government officials reside.<br> <br> </div> <div>The President further said he is open to dialogue with the SPLM-IO following their withdraw from the security arrangement mechanism meeting last week.  President Kiir said the IO’s decision to withdraw from the R-JMEC plenary was incorrect. <br> <br> </div>
