191. The Keep (1983)

<p>This week Darren is joined by Klara to discuss Michael Mann's second film, The Keep. Based on the excellent novel by F. Paul Wilson, this visually striking yet incomplete film has a very interesting legacy to it. Michael Mann's original film was supposed to be 2.30 hours but was hacked down to Just over 1.30 hour runtime and it shows. Yet there still is a fascinating film here. Klara and Darren discuss the creatures interesting way of dispatching Nazis, the secret weapon being changed from a sword to a staff that shoots a frickin laser beam, and of course the weirdest sex scene you will ever see recorded for a major studio.
