1794: IOM Chief: Humanitarian Situation in Unity State is 'Fairly Dire'

<div>Reports from Unity state say Rubkona airstrip and the main road linking the UN base to Rubkona have been cut off by floods.</div> <br> <div>Humanitarians estimate that 85% of the state is underwater, with 95% of the population affected.  </div> <br> <div>IOM Chief of Mission, Peter Van der Auweraert says the state has not seen this level of flooding since 1964. </div> <br> <div>Mr. Auweraert updated Radio Miraya on the destruction caused by the floods and what humanitarians are doing to lessen the impact on the local population.    </div>
