1723: A new dawn for Young Women Parliamentarians in the Transitional National Legislature

<div>Following the agreement by the parties to the R-ARCSS with exception of Other Political parties (OPP) and nomination of respective parties’ representatives to the Transitional National Legislature, the President in a presidential decree reconstituted the Transitional National Legislature in May 2021. <br> <br> </div> <div>The Female representation in the just reconstituted Transitional National legislature is unprecedented in the history of South Sudan and is a positive development although the four parties whose appointments were effected have not met 35% affirmative action for women agreed on in the R-ARCSS. 153 MPs women were appointed and sworn in.
