17 January - St Anthony the Abbot

St Anthony the Abbot was an ascetic who lived a hard and solitary life. He was the founder and pioneer of Christian monastic asceticism. He is the patron saint of farmers, butchers, bakers, and skin diseases. His feast day is on January 17th.
