1646: IOM engages communities to identify priority development needs

<div>The International Office for Migration (IOM) in South Sudan is engaging communities in more than 200 bomas across the country to identify priority developmental needs. </div> <div> </div> <div>The chief of mission in South Sudan, Peter Van der Auweraert says humanitarian assistance must be accompanied by developmental and peacebuilding projects to address the many challenges affecting the people. </div> <div> </div> <div>Peter says the current humanitarian situation is an indicator that there is still suffering in the country. He says insecurity is a key challenge that needs to be addressed in order to pave way for development. </div> <div> </div> <div>He calls on the relevant authorities to address this issue.</div>
