133. Multiple Cesarean Births and Advocating for Improved Perinatal Care with Cathy Garrett

<p class="sqsrte-small">April is Cesarean Awareness Month and in this episode we talk with the host of the Birth Trauma Stories podcast, which is a place that holds space and sheds light on perinatal trauma, Cathy Garrett. She shares her experience with AFE (amniotic fluid embolism), stroke, and postpartum endometritis. From having a cesarean with her first, attempting a VBAC for her second, and ultimately experience another cesarean along with need need for a hysterectomy she has faced many birthing situations from her 2 births.</p> <p class="sqsrte-small">After her second birth, she found herself in a coma for 9 days and over the course of that time she went through 6 surgeries. We explore her perspective and how she has become an advocate in this much needed space.
