121: The Origins & History of the Enneagram -The Crib Notes Version

I get a lot of questions about the history and origins of the Enneagram⁣<br />⁣<br />...and if you know me, I’m a bottom-line-me kind of girl, and I really don’t care. This is one reason my specialty within the Enneagram practice is integration.⁣<br />⁣<br />I’ve now used the Enneagram in all parts of my life for a decade⁣<br />⁣<br />Now that I’m all-in, I’ve decided to take the time to understand the history of the Enneagram. So today, I share with you its history and origins.⁣<br />⁣<br />Ennea means nine and gram means model⁣<br />⁣<br />It has Greek roots, but the Enneagram’s origins are disputed. It’s connected to spiritual, mathematical, philosophical and psychological traditions.⁣<br />⁣<br />Some authors believe it has connections with esoteric Christianity⁣<br />⁣<br />Some believe the Enneagram symbol can be traced to the sacred geometry of Pythagorean mathematicians and mystical mathematics.
