#12 - Steven Quay

<p>Dr Steven Quay is a scientist, an author, an entrepreneur and the CEO of the Seattle based company <em>Atossa Therapeutics</em>. He is also the author of a recent paper in which he, using a Bayesian analysis, came to the conclusion that the COVID-19 Pandemic had its origins in a laboratory accident in Wuhan. In this conversation we discuss Dr Quay's paper in detail and talk about the public dialogue surrounding the origins of COVID-19.</p><p>Dr Quay has over 360 published contributions to medicine and has been cited over 10,000 times. He holds 87 US patents and has invented 7 FDA-approved pharmaceuticals which have helped over 80 million people. He is the author of the best selling book on surviving the Covid-19 Pandemic, titled <em>Stay Safe: A Physician’s Guide to Surviving Coronavirus</em>. He received his M.D. and Ph.D from The University of Michigan<em> </em>and was a postdoctoral fellow in the Chemistry Department at MIT with Nobel Laureate H. Gobind Khorana. He was also a resident at the Harvard MGH Hospital, and spent almost a decade on the faculty of Stanford University’s School of Medicine. Dr Quay and his company also work tirelessly to further research on breast cancer prevention.
