12. Mothering Our Success

<p>The ways our parents and grandparents parented us are not the ways we want to be parenting now. What we got from previous generations is less than what we want for ourselves as working mothers and what we want to give to our children.</p> <p>This is not an insult to our families. This is a recognition that we have a job to do.</p> <p>Our job is to create what we want to bring into the future as working mothers. Doing this job will benefit us in the immediate while simultaneously setting up future generations of working mothers for success that we cannot currently imagine.
