11.04 - The Founding of UNESCO

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s November 4th and on this day in 1946, UNESCO was founded. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">UNESCO stands for t</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">he United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As war began to ravage Europe for the second time in a generation, governments quickly began talks on how to rebuild education systems once peace was achieved. The Conference of Allied Ministers of Education in London, 1942 laid the groundwork for what would become UNESCO in 1946. </span></p>
