10 August - St Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr

St Lawrence is responsible for the conversion of practically the whole of Rome, by his one act of humility of laying down his life for the sake of the poor and the gospel. He is the patron saint of Rome, the poor and many others. His feast day is on August 10th.
