1 John 5:1-6 - Love Needs a Direct Object

Love is more than just an abstract concept or some ethereal thing that you can't quite understand. Love is put into action. So it is great to see love as a characteristic and quality of God, but that is not enough. God's love would be of no practical value had he not put that love into action. His love would be of no value if there was no direct object of his love. Yet, we know that God's love is of the greatest value because he did put it into action through his Son and we are the direct objects of his love.
