064: Are You Running Your Practice as a CEO or a Practitioner?

<p>Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I find that practitioners fall into entrepreneurship almost accidentally. We want to practice our craft and help others achieve their own health goals and the only way to do that is to a) start our own business/practice or b) go to work for someone else in their business.</p> <p>I’ve found that most practitioners choose option A which is perfectly fine, except…. we are much better at being the service provider than the business owner. After all, there probably wasn’t a “How to Be A Business Boss 101” requirement at your school or university.</p> <p>Your business is just like one of your patients – it needs to be nurtured, cared for, and then maintained. And if you don’t have a clue about how to do that (most business owners don’t….), it can result in chaos down the road.
