Description
<p><strong> </strong></p> <p dir="ltr">In this episode Ankur interviews Ashanti Branch, founder of the Ever-Forward Club (based in Oakland) and prophet of bringing emotional literacy to young men. </p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p dir="ltr">As I relistened to the episode, Ashanti’s path (and passion) seem even more radical to me: the dominant narratives around “what to do with” young men who are not on the success track seem to be Prison (“Tough Love”) and Shape Up and Go To College. Ashanti is claiming to have the same (or better) results as the College Track by treating this kids as actual human beings with emotional experiences, and giving them a safe outlet to be themselves.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Shocking, I know. And totally awesome.</p> <p><strong><br /> <br /></strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Show Links:</p> <p dir="ltr">Voicemail: <a href= "https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow">https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow</a></p> <p dir="ltr">Email: info@10kh.show</p> <p dir="ltr">Podcast website: <a href= "http://momentumlab.com/podcast">http://momentumlab.com/podcast</a></p> <p dir="ltr">Momentum Lab: <a href= "http://www.momentumlab.com">http://www.momentumlab.com</a></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Guest References:</p> <ol> <li dir="ltr" aria-level="1"> <p dir="ltr" role="presentation">TEDx Marin - The Masks We All Wear <a href= "http://www.tedxmarin.org/ashanti-branch/">http://www.tedxmarin.org/ashanti-branch/</a></p> </li> <li dir="ltr" aria-level="1"> <p dir="ltr" role="presentation">2017 Wisdom 2.0 - Young Men from Ever Forward Club speak about growing today - <a href= "https://youtu.be/8bPOd2Esbrk">https://youtu.be/8bPOd2Esbrk</a></p> </li> <li dir="ltr" aria-level="1"> <p dir="ltr" role="presentation">Ashanti Branch speaks about young men's emotional toolbox at Big Ideas Fest 2014 - <a href= "http://youtu.be/sGzauoDEEVk">http://youtu.be/sGzauoDEEVk</a></p> </li> <li dir="ltr" aria-level="1"> <p dir="ltr" role="presentation">The Ever Forward Club's work is featured in a documentar
