Saturday 22nd May    Fighting Prayers 6.   God always wants us to win in life and we win by the application of divine wisdom especially in spiritual warfare. The wisdom of God, prayers and exercising of our authority in Christ will always guarantee us victory. So wisdom in fighting prayers equals victory.   Acts 16 vs 16-18 (GNB), 16One day as we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a young servant woman who had an evil spirit that enabled her to predict the future. She earned a lot of money for her owners by telling fortunes. 17She followed Paul and us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They announce to you how you can be saved!” 18She did this for many days, until Paul became so upset that he turned round and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her!” The spirit went out of her that very moment.   When it comes to fighting prayers, there are two ways we can go about it. The first approach is when we speak to the situation by taking authority over that situation and commanding it to comply in the name of Jesus. This is also called the binding and loosing prayer. Here, we are not speaking to God but we are exercising our authority over a particular situation that is opposing our purpose in Christ. The bible describes a situation like this in the 10, Jesus was hungry and He saw a fig tree afar off, He went there hoping to find figs but there was none. Jesus cursed the tree and it withered.   We also see Apostle Paul’s encounter with the girl with the evil spirit. She had used the spirit of divination to announce Paul and his teams’ mission to the people and she did this for days.  Agitated in his spirit, Paul exercised his authority over the situation by casting out the spirit from the girl and she was delivered from that evil spirit.
