<p>Hello to you in <a href="https://www.visitcalifornia.com/uk/attraction/riverside">Riverside, California</a>! </p><p>Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.</p><p>At home, at work, on the field competition is useful, as are cooperation and collaboration.</p><p>Competition is the process of trying to win by acting against another say, in sports.</p><p>Cooperation is working with others *and* achieving one’s own goals as part of a common goal. For example, active listening, showing respect by taking turns, or realizing that you may need to hand over a lead position in a project because someone else can fill the role more effectively.</p><p>Collaboration is coordinated activity where the participants work toward solving a shared problem or goal. Brainstorming is a classic example of collaboration. </p><p>Surrender is willful acceptance of one’s limitations, and can be a healing practice of trust in self and others.</p><p><strong>Question</strong>: When and how are you competing, cooperating, collaborating and, surrendering? </p><p><i>This is the place to thrive together.
