New York State Considers New Rules for Doulas

The New York State Senate hosted a large gathering of birth doulas on March 7 at the capital. They were there to discuss a new proposal to allow insurance payments for birth services that proponents say could dramatically reduce maternal mortality and other dangers connected to childbirth.
