You’re sitting on a couch in a home that’s not yours. On the floor in front of you are three young children---two boys and a girl---playing with toys. In the corner of the room is a sparsely-decorated Christmas tree. On the wall to the left of the tree hangs a flatscreen television displaying images of the kids’ dead father.
