That sense, synonymous with <em><a href="https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/disorderly#h2">disorderly</a></em> or <em><a href="https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/unregulated">unregulated</a></em>, is now archaic, but it offers a hint as to the origins of <em>inordinate</em>. The word traces back to the
