April 22, 2022

Expressing versus expression. Close but no cookie right? To express is to convey in word or by gesture. You’d think expression fits right in. Hmmm. Dictionary.com says an expression conveys a particular emotion. The reason why I bring this up is purely based on expressing a thought doesn’t always involve facial expressions or other types of body language. Look at the new anchors and political opinion makers! I’m guilty of reading their expressions more than what they are expressing. This isn’t a knock. It’s only a comparison. Look at the news hosts then watch the President. He means well with what he’s expressing but his expressions don’t match the message. Does having a cold body keep receivers from tapping in? Personally I’m a body talker. I need to use my arms, face, legs and whatever else is available to add inflection to what I’m expressing. Because you can’t see me, do you believe me? Expressing versus expression. What are you bringing to the conversation?
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/arroe-collins/message
