She kept hoping that  it was all a big mistake and her real family would come by any day and take her to her real home.</p><p>Years after being abandoned by her father at a young age, she traveled to visit him  one summer.  It wasn't the summer vacation she was expecting.</p><p>Not until her daughter was born did Lockey  realize that something wasn't right.  "I never want my children to ever feel that loss or lack of foundation that I believe you can only get from your mother."</p><p>After years of hard work, she is not angry and says, "I wouldn't be who I am without my past.
