Rethinking Greatness - Part I: The disciples were jockeying as to who would be first among the disciples. Jesus now shows them what would be required of them to be first among the disciples. Is there anything wrong with wanting to be the greatest of Jesus’ disciples? No. Just make sure your definition of great and His definition of great are one and the same. The disciples had in their mind a picture of greatness that meant others came and served you. They had in their mind a picture of greatness that meant they gave orders that others were required to go and follow. Jesus said, If anyone desires to be first, he must become the servant of all.
