<p>Dr. Scott Sumner is the Director of the Program on Monetary Policy at the Mercatus Center. Called ‘the blogger who saved the economy’ by the Atlantic, he is credited with directly influencing a shift in Federal Reserve policy in 2012. Much of his work has been directed at uncovering the monetary policy failures behind the Great Depression and the 2008 financial crisis. He has written about these topics extensively in his books, The Midas Paradox, and most recently The Money Illusion: Market Monetarism, the Great Recession, and the Future of Monetary Policy.</p>
