Being fair and transparent matters. Sharing accurate information is important. The onboarding process matters as does giving people some voice and control in how they can best contribute to an organization’s mission.&nbsp; Joel addresses the fallacy of not having enough time to devote to developing people in this way, noting that an ounce of prevention is well worth the pound of cure. Repairing damage from unfairness is often far more costly, such as in employee turnover.
