What Is God Doing On A Cross

Everyone has seen pictures of Jesus on the cross. No matter what you believe, what you think about religion, or whether you even want to think about religion, you have seen the images.Do these images of Jesus on the cross matter to you? The Romans, used crucifixion as a death sentence more than two-thousand years ago. This form of punishment was a very slow, excruciating method of carrying out capital punishment. Only criminals experienced this form of execution.For Jesus, his punishment was even more severe than the typical criminal. “Finally, Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified” (John 19:16). Then the real brutality began.How could the God of the entire universe everbe placed in a situation where he would haveto go through something like this and Why?As you reflect on your life, perhaps you feel empty inside, you know something is missing.
