Oluokun Temitope Tariq (born May 1st), known professionally as TAR1Q (TAH-reek) , is a Nigerian singer-songwriter signed to Chocolate City Music. Born in Benin city to a Yoruba father, he discovered his love for music at the age of 12. In 2020, shortly after moving back to Lagos from Delta state, he decided to take music as a career first as a trapper. His velvety voice & heartfelt storytelling shine in 'Afro-Rhythm,' blending Afrobeats, Pop, Hip-Hop & R&B. Influenced by Sade, Kwam1, Chris Brown, Wizkid, J. Cole & Davido, he crafts a unique sound. The result has been captivating EPs like Son of the Moon and All I Felt, collaborations with Blaqbonez, Khaid, and NATIVE Sound System, as well as stand out tracks like “Away”, “Emotions”, 2024’s hit single, “Jigga”.
