Nobody Knows: A candid account of how I'm really feeling, and my secret struggles with depression.
Dounia & Ihssas
Description
This is not a feel good book. There are no happy endings here. No blueprints nor secrets revealed to help you get out from under your clouds. There are no sudden eureka moments where everything clicks into place for you. There are no educated analyses that have been carried out to help you identify my main struggles. If that's what you're looking for, am afraid it's not here. That's not to say that this book is not therapy. It is. Only it's all mine. This book represents my first step in a long line of many to try and overcome my own struggles. I am a middle aged male and on the surface everything is rosey. In fact it's more than rosey, I appear to be killing it. At least that's on the surface. What my friends and family don't know is that I am absolutely dying inside. I am struggling with the darkest of thoughts. I've got it far from worked out. I am struggling with bereavement, high pressured burn out, and a long list of relationship issues that have me questioning my very existence. The point of this book is not to try and fix someone, but to try and indentify with them. Nobody knows how I'm really feeling inside, yet everyone knows someone like me. They just might not know it! Then again, who knows? Maybe you know me already! If you're struggling with your own issues and finding things tough from time to time, maybe this book will help you to understand that you're not alone. Those around you that at times seem to have the perfect life, often, have anything but.Read more
