Never Again...Again

Description
There is no phrase in foreign policy as evocative of an aim beyond reach than “Never again”. This promise implores intervention in the face of mass atrocities. However, these words seem to be twisted into a new rendition: “Never again...again.” Over 70 years after the ratification of the Genocide Convention passed by the UN as “acts intended to destroy in whole or in part a national, ethnical, racial or religious group” the world still fails to prevent such crimes. In an increasingly interdependent world, whose responsibility is it to realise “Never again”? This four-part series aims to deconstruct the origins of genocide, evaluate prevention techniques, consider the impact of genocide denial, and explore the efficacy of humanitarian intervention.
