Google's Failure to Connect!

Google was the coolest thing out of California since the skateboard was invented there in the 1950s as they took a bunch of disorganized web pages that made up the Internet and organized with their PageRank algorithm. It's actually a straightforward idea, but it worked and changed how people have engaged with the Internet since 1998. The Internet moves fast, and Google has been transformative in its deployment of Android, cloud services, and much more since its inception, but they aren't the fastest horse in the race any longer. The US DOJ is right to consider breaking Google up as they don't have any competition in relation to search, which is their main revenue stream, and their other publicly known service, YouTube, doesn't have any competitors, either. This is because Google is good, but they have also used monopolistic practices to ensure this is a reality, like giving Apple $20 billion annually to install Chrome as the default search engine on their phones. We need competition as this will make Google's services better as well as improve the products on the Net that are available to the public. Google's main errors include its lack of diversification, employment of the masses, and lack of sponsorship for public events. The company could have been so much more, but someone forgot to tell all the computer engineers at Google that most people aren't nor do they want to be programmers. Google showed its cards to the public in March of 2023 when Open AI's Chat GPT 3.5 became available, and the world got a view of how search will be used in the future. Google search became obsolete overnight, and if have used Chat GPT, you know this is true. This coupled with Lemoine's delusions about LaMDA and the poor performance of Gemini has shown that Google isn't producing state-of-the-art products any longer. Therefore, the US DOJ should consider breaking up the company as their monopolistic practices only benefit shareholders but hinder the tech sector, job growth, and potential taxation for the US Government.
